- The following online polls were recorded:
- Draft membership policies as revised. Approved.
- The following items were approvedt:
- Articles of Incorporation of NASSPDA, a California Public Benefit Corporation, to be filed with the State of California.
- Expenditure of approximately $100 filing fees for the Articles of Incorporation.
- Proceed with next steps to applying for a Federal Tax ID number (EIN) and tax-exempt status.
- Open a checking account for NASSPDA with both co-chairs and the Secretary to be signers on the account.
- Barbara Zoloth to be NASSPDA Treasurer in addition to Co-Chair.
- Benjamin Soencksen to be NASSPDA Secretary.
- The draft of Board Governance policies submitted by the Governance Committee Aug 8, 2008, was discussed, revised, and partially approved as revised.
- Naming and organizing principles for website files were agreed to.
- The Secretary shall maintain both paper copies and electronic back-up copies of organizational documents.
- The Chair, Vice Chair, and Secretary shall have adminsitrative authority on NASSPDA's website.
- Membership:
- Application process for any membership shall not be part of the Membership Policies document, and shall be determined by the Membership Committee.
- The calendar year shall be used for NASSPDA’s fiscal and membership year.
- Membership renewal shall be issued as early as October of each year.
- Membership will not be pro-rated, no matter when the application was submitted, since the benefits that come with membership do not increase or decrease with time.
- Late fee in the amount of $5.00 per month (accumulative) shall be collected after January 31st, if membership has not been renewed.
- The Sacramento competition scheduled for January 18, 2008, is approved for NASSPDA sanction subject to satisfactory receipt by NASSPDA of all requested information.
